Job summary
Asthe first point of contact for this busy GP Practice you will be expectedto be professional and efficient and be able to work under pressure at alltimes, welcoming patients and visitors to the practice in a friendly andprofessional manner. Working as part ofa large reception team, you will be required to deal with patients both face toface and over the telephone ensuring a high level of patient care is maintainedat all times.
Working pattern is a 2 week rolling rota: 30hrs per week over 3 days (3 x 2 x day off)
likely working days: week 1 tues, thurs & fri - week 2 mon, wed & thurs
Main duties of the job
To be professional at all times to patients and visitors to the surgery anddeal with their requests efficiently.
To schedule appointments and deal with requests for home visits, dealingwith general enquiries.
Processing requests for prescriptions, handling repeat medication requests,issuing prescriptions as required.
Updating and maintaining patient records, protecting patients rights bymaintaining confidentiality at all times.
Help to manage and monitor the Telephone Triage and Duty Doctor Call backlist, making sure the patient is aware of other sources of medical assistanceavailable to them.
Ensuring that patients are fully aware of the services available to themand that personal health management is promoted at all times.
Maintaining operations by following the practice policies and procedures,reporting incidents in a timely manner to the appropriate member of staff.
Attend and participate in practice and reception meetings and training.
