An Outstanding school in the North of Bristol is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic individual to help assist classrooms across KS1 + KS2. A Classroom Assistant is a vital role within a Primary School - you will be helping the class teacher with a variety of tasks and set up of activities, build strong relationships with students - support them with their learning, maintain behaviour management in and around the classroom and help students in 1:1 or small group settings. The school are looking for a confident and adaptable individual who is a good team player and can integrate well within their supportive school environment.
About you:
1. Caring and engaging.
2. Can calmly deal with stressful situations.
3. Have previous experience of working in a school environment/with children (not essential but desirable– you will learn lots on the job!)
4. Pro active in supporting class teacher.
You in the role:
5. Establish authentic relationships and trust with students.
6. Collaborate with class teaching in supporting students progress.
7. Work with students in groups or 1:1 setting to check understanding of learning.
8. Use school behaviour policy to reinforce positive behaviour and classroom routine.
9. Can communicate tasks clearly so that students of all abilities can understand.
10. Help with classroom + material preparation, clearing up after lessons and general admin tasks.
