Job Description
To assist the Partner/Lead in handling a caseload of mixed disease claims to include Mesothelioma, Asbestos, Stress. To manage and progress claims for the Partner in accordance with the strategies and action plan as determined by the Partner.
Key Accountabilities
Reviewing documents and preparing reports
Considering the strategy of the case with a view to progressing
Dealing with disclosure
Reviewing evidence (including medical / personnel records/ Companies House)
Conducting investigations with MOD / obtaining witness statements
Instructing Counsel / Experts
Research
Drafting generally
Attending conferences and Trials with Counsel
Dealing with routine correspondence
Court appointments including own advocacy
Providing initial reports and further reports / advice to clients, when requested
Liaising directly with the Claims Handlers and Managers
Complying with Clients instructions
Willing to engage in Client development when required
Assisting team in achieving goals and objectives
Meeting agreed targets
To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations

Working Hours
35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Office location for this role is our Coventry Office
Skills and Experience
Technically proficient in handling and/or assisting on disease litigated cases
At least 5 years PQE or equivalent experience
Effective negotiator
Ability to use own initiative
Flexibility in relation to tasks undertaken
Good listening and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain concentration and pay attention to detail
Ability to self-organise and self-prioritise
Ability to work under pressure and to target
An enthusiastic and hardworking individual
Good level of IT skills
