We are currently working with a large Local Government organisation in the West Midlands who are seeking a skilled Category Manager to lead agreed category management activity across Housing and Works.
Category Manager – Housing & Works
Start: ASAP
Rate: Negotiable depending on experience (Inside IR35)
Duration: 6 Months Initially, possible extension
Hybrid working: West Midlands
Main duties
* Manage category management activity from source to contract that underpins the Council’s objectives to transform Procurement & Commercial Services into a leading-edge and professional organisation through becoming more focused, more integrated, and more disciplined.
* Lead agreed category management activity - People Services, Housing & Works, City Management or Corporate Services.
* Create a centrally coordinated, highly effective procurement function with strong execution capability.
* Deliver substantial and sustainable savings to establish credibility.
* Act as an integral strategic partner with directorates/functions and supply chain partners.
* Take ownership of category vision and deliver Category Plans which underpin the sourcing strategies for the Housing & Works category - up to c£220 million addressable spend under contract.
* Prioritise risks and issues and manage mitigations across the council.
Requirements
* Experience in local government and the public procurement regulations 2015.
* Category experience predominantly in housing and works, and additionally in corporate services.
