Horizon Teachers are currently recruiting for an SEND Teacher to join an SEND Primary school in Harrow from January 2025. The school are looking for someone with a good level of experience working with children who have PMLD and complex needs of varying ages. The school are keen to find the right person for the role as early as possible, to ensure that the children and support staff in the classroom have enough time to prepare and prevent the transition from being too sudden for the students.
We have previously worked very closely with the school to provide them with teachers and support staff, and the feedback we have had on the workplace environment as well as the school's attitude and positivity has been outstanding. The class itself is a KS2 mixed class of children aged 9-11. All of the students have complex needs and the vast majority of the students also have an additional diagnosis of ASD. The school need someone with a good level of experience, a patient individual who understands the children's needs and is prepared to spend the time necessary to build trusting and positive relationships.
The school's ideal candidate will:
Be an experienced SEN Teacher able to show experience and confidence in their daily duties.
Be able to effectively communicate with children who have Severe Learning Difficulties.
Have a good understanding of different special needs and have experience working with them.
Be able to plan and organise activities for the child...
