Our client is an exciting food innovator, producing sustainable and healthy meat alternatives, looking to take their technology driven business to the next stage of industrialisation and into volume production.
The Role
This food technology start-up business is looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join the team and manage fermentation scale-up strategy.
You will be at the forefront of bioreactor design optimisation and focus on scaling up the process to larger capacity.
The Senior Process Engineer will play a crucial role in the design of commercial pilot production facilities.
You will develop and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, food quality, and overall safety.
The improvements you identify to enhance processes will have a direct effect on cost reduction, waste reduction, and increased efficiency.
The Senior Process Engineer will review and analyse process performance data, developing strategies to meet targets.
The Candidate
You will be an experienced process engineer within the fermentation sector.
Fungal fermentation experience is essential for this position, having been exposed to scaling up bioprocesses at large volumes.
You will hold a BSc or MSc in engineering, either chemical, mechanical, industrial, or a similar field.
You will have worked with a range of organisms within the fermentation processing sector.
A passion for food innovation and sustainability would be beneficial.
You will have excellent communication skills and live within a commutable distance to Nottingham.
