Alexander Steele are working with a leading food manufacturing business who are going through an exciting period of growth. They are looking to appoint a Quality Assurance and Technical Manager at their site in Fraserburgh.

The role:
* Managing the company’s quality management system to ensure compliance with standards such as those set by BRC and HACCP procedures on food handling
* Management of the Quality and Hygiene team
* Reviewing existing policies and planning how to improve the quality management system
* Implementing improvements to the system
* Lead HACCP team, documenting decisions and reviews
* Representing the business on technical-related matters such as audits
* Ensuring associated staff are competent to do their jobs
* Managing company hygiene and quality activities
* Investigate non conformance’s as necessary and follow through on all Corrective actions
* Liaising closely with company management, customers and suppliers
* Organise and lead monthly team meetings
* Monitor and manage costs associated with Technical, eg. Cleaning chemicals, micro testing etc
* Trend complaints, micro results etc and communicate information with Management team
* Conduct Shelf life and Organoleptic testing as per schedule
The candidate:
* At least 3 years experience in a similar role within a chilled / frozen food business
* A degree in Food Science or similar or equivalent experience
* Experienced in BRC auditing
* Holds HACCP and Food Safety level 3 +
* Good management experience
