Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Consultant Physician with an interest in Gastroenterology to join our team at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth.
We are looking for a motivated and committed individual who will provide a high quality gastroenterology and endoscopic service and join colleagues in a very dynamic and forward thinking team.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable with all aspects of gastroenterology and take part in the consultant general medicine on call rota which is currently 1:10.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Provide a comprehensive gastroenterology service
Offer acute inpatient assessment and treatment
Deliver outpatient clinics and procedures in accordance with the contractual requirements within the parameters of the Health Board's objectives.
And support the development and delivery of a sub-specialty service in hospital and in the community.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
2. On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT due within 6 months of interview date
3. Or CESR or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
4. MRCP
5. Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills

6. Appropriate Higher Degree MD, PhD or MSc or equivalent
Clinical Experience

7. Broad based experience in General Medicine and Gastroenterology
8. Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
9. Knowledge and participation in CPD
10. Competent in all modalities of diagnostic gastrointestinal endoscopy
