Job summary
The Sheffield Perinatal Mental Health Service is a specialist community mental health service working with women and birthing people who are suffering from, thought to be suffering from, or at high risk of suffering from moderate to severe mental health and/or parent-infant relationship difficulties in the perinatal period (currently this extends to baby's first birthday - there are plans to extend to baby's second birthday at some point in the future). The service has grown significantly in line with national developments in this field over the last 10 years, and the current makeup of the service is a multi-disciplinary staff team of nearly 40 staff from over 14 different professional groups delivering a wide range of evidence-based care and treatment to around 500 women/birthing people and their families per year.
As part of this development journey, the service has become adept at welcoming people who have never worked in perinatal mental healthcare before into the team. Excellent induction, specialist training, support, supervision, and coaching / mentoring are all provided, and will be warmly offered to this new team member. The team has a lot of experienced staff and leaders, and this person will join a supportive, collaborative, and well-structured senior leadership team and clinical service.
