£13.50 per hour
Role Description – Mental Health Support Worker
Gray Healthcare are recruiting a new team of mental health support workers within the Salford area of Manchester to support a gentleman in his 40's who has a diagnosis of Organic Personality Disorder and dysarthria as a result of brain injury who be living independently in his own home receiving 2:1 support 24 hours a day. The gentleman we will be supporting has a good sense of humour, enjoys fitness and gym and is a huge Manchester United football club fan. He will be supported by a male only team on mixed shifts of days and waking nights. We are recruiting drivers only for this role as the individual we support will have a mobility vehicle to access the community.
Mental Health Support Worker Required Skills and Experience
1. Full UK Driving License – Essential .
2. Social care experience, ideally within mental health and with some experience of supporting individuals with Schizophrenia.
3. Experience providing encouragement to a person with complex health needs and Learning Disabilities.
4. Experience supporting individuals with behaviours which may be considered challenging.
5. Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
6. You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.
7. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Hours
24 hour contract 2 x12 hour shift per week during the day + 1 sleep @ £100 per sleep
36 hour contract 3 x12 hour shift per week during the day + 1 sleep @ £100 per sleep
Induction and Training
We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training. (Company induction, systems, and Medication.) Followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice, this is a therapeutic and proven alternative to restraint dominate approaches. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
