Border Force Assistant Officer\n\nStarting salary from £30,000\n\nWorking pattern: Full-time, part-time\n\nLocations:\n\nHolyhead\n\n**As a Border Force Assistant Officer, you ll have a purpose-filled role,\nworking for supportive employer and in a great team. **\n\nAbout us\n\nBorder Force is a law enforcement arm of the Home Office. We are responsible\nfor managing the UK border control by implementing immigration and customs\nregulations and working with the wider Home Office on counter terrorism,\ntackling organised crime, modern slavery and trafficking.

So, what will you be doing if you choose to join us?\n\nOur aim is to enable the flow of passengers and goods quickly and effectively\nthrough the Primary Control entry points, while refusing entry to the UK when\nappropriate and required. This means checking passengers to ensure our legal\nduties around Customs, Freight, Immigration and Safeguarding are always\nupheld.\n\nAs a Border Force Assistant Officer, you could be conducting checks on our\nsystems one day, and performing searches on people, goods, and vehicles the\nnext. Whatever the task, youll use law enforcement powers when necessary.\nYoull also tackle international trade work, investigating errors and\ncomplaints.\n\nAbout you\n\nTo join us, you will need:\n\n * To be professional, impartial, honest and respectful of others\n * Demonstrable interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with others including colleagues, members of the public and external stakeholders.\n * A genuine interest in people, and an inquisitive, empathetic manner.\n * The ability to work as part of a team, be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.\n * The ability to deal with potentially difficult and challenging situations in a professional manner.\n * An objective, analytical and methodical approach to tasks.\n\nTraining and development\n\nJoin us, and you will receive the training and support that you need,\nincluding training on the job.

This includes an\ninduction, core training and Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST).\n\nTravel and accommodation costs for training will be paid by Border Force where\nrequired.\n\nClosing date: 12 December 2024.
