Portfolio Office Expansion Programme
As part of a major transformation, Scottish Fire & Rescue Service are expanding their Portfolio Office to enable significant internal transformation initiatives. This expansion will enable the effective delivery of a variety of organisational change programmes whilst also enhancing the growth and effectiveness of the Portfolio Office function. Ultimately, this expansion will aid in the delivery of a fit for purpose and cost-effective Public Service.
Role Overview:
A leading organisation within the public sector is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to spearhead their key strategic service review program to enhance the quality and value of services it delivers to its customers, both internal and external. This role involves managing multiple projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and achieving the intended benefits. This is a brand new position an exciting role to make your own.
Key Responsibilities:
* Programme Leadership: having the ability to engage across a wide range, working with Head of IT, New Builds and frontline. Experience of working large programmes
* Delivery Oversight: Supervise the delivery of new capabilities. Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and alignment with strategic roadmaps.
* Coordination: Manage inter-project dependencies, resolve risks and issues, and ensure overall programme integrity.
* Budget Management: Oversee the programme budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with key stakeholders, manage consultations, and promote programme progress.
Qualifications:
Essential: Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience. Formal programme management qualification (e.g., MSP). Proven experience managing large, complex programmes. Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience in: IT projects and Asset Management (ideally refurbishment of existing building projects)
Desirable: Experience in public sector organisations, team management, and liaising with system providers.
Knowledge of frameworks such as LEAN, PRINCE2, AGILE,

35 hours per week
excellent flexi time to 1.5 days per month and hybrid working which is super-flexible.
Core flexi ours between 7am - 7pm Mon - Frid,
Condensed week: 5 days condensed into 4, with one day off or over 10 days condensed down to 9 days.
