SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant
Location: Fordingbridge
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience)
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs at a vibrant school in Fordingbridge. Your role will involve working closely with teaching staff and SEN specialists, adapting lesson plans, and ensuring each child’s unique needs are met with patience and encouragement.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for students requiring additional assistance.
Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide tailored support for individual or small groups of students with SEN.
* Assist in developing and adapting resources to support learning objectives.
* Encourage positive social interactions and foster emotional resilience.
* Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
* Monitor and report student progress and behaviour.
Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN in an educational setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and empathetic in challenging situations.
* A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new check.
