Key Responsibilities
As an Immigration Solicitor, you will manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters, assisting clients with a range of personal and business immigration issues. Your key duties will include:
Advising clients on various immigration matters, including visa applications, family reunification, citizenship, asylum, and deportation cases.
Preparing and submitting visa and immigration applications, ensuring compliance with Home Office requirements.
Handling complex cases involving human rights law, including challenges against refusals and deportation orders.
Representing clients at immigration tribunals and hearings, providing expert legal advice and advocacy.
Advising businesses on employee immigration issues, including sponsorship licences, work permits, and compliance with immigration regulations.
Assisting clients with naturalisation and settlement applications, as well as appealing refusals where appropriate.
Keeping clients informed throughout the immigration process, managing expectations, and providing clear, empathetic guidance.
Liaising with government agencies, embassies, and other stakeholders involved in immigration matters.
Maintaining accurate records of client instructions and keeping up-to-date with the latest developments in immigration law and policy.
Key Skills and Experience Required
Qualified solicitor with experience in immigration law, including visa applications, asylum, and deportation.
Strong understanding of UK immigration law and Home Office procedures, including up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
Proven experience managing a caseload of immigration matters, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
Excellent client care skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage client expectations and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Experience using case management systems is beneficial.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
