Working as part a of a member of a small finance team in a manufacturing business based in Pontefract you will support the Management Accountant and will assist in the smooth processing of both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions covering any other aspects of transactional finance as and when needed including assistant with month / year end processes.
The main duties and responsibilities are to include:
* Accurately record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
* Generate and send customer invoices, following up on overdue accounts where necessary.
* Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks.
* Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial records match the actual bank account balances.
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank records and financial transactions.
* Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT returns and other relevant tax filings.
* Support Management Accountant with month-end/year-end processes
* Assist in generating ad-hoc tasks
* Provide administrative support to the Finance team as needed.
