Design, develop, and test software solutions for e.surv and its clients.
Main Accountabilities:
* Application development: 3+ years experience with creating Python, Django, ReactJS applications.
* Database development: Experience with administering Microsoft SQL servers, PostgreSQL, and other relational database management systems. Maintenance plans, database user and security audit with a proven track record on how to achieve maximum database performance by analysing execution plans, indexes, query performance tuning and other SQL best practices.
* Web development: Proven experience with web programming using the Django framework. Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to create web apps from scratch. Strong attention to detail. Solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices. OWASP framework enforcement throughout all coding. Create, maintain, and coordinate backup mechanisms for business continuity while maintaining data availability in line with IT processes and procedures.
* Cover the full development lifecycle from design and planning through to development, testing, and delivery. Maintain and update current applications, ensuring change and release processes are followed. Work with BAs to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and will deliver expected benefits. Ensure code is well documented, and knowledge is shared wherever possible. Provide ongoing support for all code written. Provide application support for related applications. Create and maintain application documentation. Adhere to Quality Management guidelines, as directed, in line with the framework of ISO 9001. Ensure own H&S and that of colleagues by complying with both legal and policy requirements. Highlight to the line manager any concerns regarding conflicting duties or areas of responsibility.
Knowledge, Expertise and Qualifications:
* Strong working knowledge of programming (React, Python, Django, HTML 5) and techniques thereof. Excellent working knowledge of relational database management systems, including SQL. Good working knowledge of the Linux and Windows command line interfaces. Good working knowledge of user interface design technologies. Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and computer vision. Good working knowledge of linear and logistic regression algorithms. Excellent verbal, written, and numeracy skills. Excellent organisational skills, including ability to manage time and prioritise effectively. Strong IT skills, skilled in using Microsoft Word and Excel packages, and experienced in working with HR packages/databases. Able to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes. Well-developed interpersonal skills and able to deal with colleagues at all levels. Able to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information. Knowledge and full grasp of concepts surrounding data integrity and security in all aspects of development. Experience of working within an ITIL environment. A very good understanding of software development processes SDLC.
