Care Assistant (With a Level 2 Qualification in Health and Social Care) - Part time and Full Time Shifts available. 22hrs – 44hrs per week
The role of a Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the people living within Orchard homes. We ensure everyone is cared for with dignity and respect, and that they are engaged in how they receive support from our staff. You will play a key role in ensuring they engage in meaningful activities and receive the best support in line with their individual needs.

Main Duties
* Enable people to remain as independent as possible while providing support and assistance as per the individual’s needs, including delivering personal care such as washing, dressing, and oral care.
* Be understanding and patient towards everyone and their needs, encouraging and supporting them to participate in leisure activities appropriate to the individual and their preferences, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. This includes supporting individuals and groups to outside appointments and leisure outings.
* Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying rooms, undertaking light cleaning duties as needed, and generally assisting in ensuring that the home is kept clean, pleasant, and welcoming at all times.
* Help serve meals and drinks at mealtimes and other times, presenting meals and refreshments attractively, with polite and courteous service, providing the appropriate level of support at mealtimes.
* Understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Care Standards Act, with a clear understanding of Infection Prevention and Control policies to maintain a safe environment throughout the home.
