About the Role:
We are seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to join our Customs and Trade Compliance team. This is a critical role where you will support global trade management functions, focusing on compliance with customs regulations and/or export controls. While this is primarily a remote position, occasional onsite work (once every 2-3 weeks) will be required to collaborate with the team on projects. Candidates should either be local to or willing to commute to Daventry, Darlington, or Huddersfield as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and execute processes that ensure compliance with customs regulations and export control laws.
* Work with large datasets in Excel, using functions such as VLOOKUP, filters, and other data analysis tools to generate insights and support decision-making.
* Collaborate with the Customs and Trade Compliance team on various trade operations and compliance projects.
* Take the initiative in identifying areas where guidance or support is needed and proactively seek help when necessary.
* Communicate effectively across teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with regulations.
Preferred Experience:
* No prior trade or brokerage experience is required, but familiarity with shipping, logistics, or transportation processes will be an advantage.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel (intermediate skills, including VLOOKUP, filters, and data analysis) is essential, as you will be handling spreadsheet-based work regularly.
* Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and draw actionable conclusions from it.
* Knowledge of the business would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Clear Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must for effective collaboration.
* Proactive Approach: A self-starter who takes initiative, asks questions when necessary, and stays motivated without continuous oversight.
* IT Competence: Solid skills in Microsoft Office tools (particularly Excel), and proficiency with email and calendar systems for daily communication and scheduling.
Why Join Us?
* Flexible working environment with a mostly remote setup, allowing for a better work-life balance.
* Opportunity to gain valuable experience in trade compliance and customs within a global organisation.
* Competitive PAYE rate of 15.39 per hour.
* Chance to work with a dynamic, supportive team and develop key analytical and compliance skills.
This role offers the potential for growth and extension beyond the initial 6-month contract, with opportunities to contribute to a team that plays a vital part in ensuring global trade compliance.
