Job summary
30 hours per week
To provide high quality, efficient standard of practice,safe patient care and safe midwifery and ultrasound skill. Be accountable fortheir own professional actions when issuing diagnostic ultrasound reports aspart of the ultrasound team within clinical radiology. To provide clinicalmidwifery expertise ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered. Toparticipate in a 7 day ultrasound and midwifery service.
Main duties of the job
1. Be responsible for imaging patients using ultrasoundequipment and generating ultrasound reports in accordance with departmentalguidelines and standard operating procedures.
2. Identify and document clinical abnormalities, updatingthe appropriate computerised patient records including voice recognition andobstetric reporting packages.
3. Act upon clinical observations.
4. Communicate with people in an appropriate manner toensure level of understanding incorporates preferred ways of communicating,culture and background
5. Effectively communicate complex and sensitive information
6. Be accountable for their own professional actionsincluding report writing and communication of results to patients/relatives.
7. Be responsible for the assessment of care needs, thedevelopment, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and assistwith the setting of standards.

1. Experience in all required fields of ultrasound
2. The person must possess good literacy and numeracy skills
3. The person must be able to relate theory to practice and utilise research based practice, for interpreting, reporting and diagnosing on patients conditions
4. A mechanical aptitude to enable the individual to cope with ever changing technology.
5. Knowledge and understanding of current National Maternity Drivers
