Support Worker
Temporary contract
Starting from £13 an hour (+ holiday pay on top)
Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm
An exciting opportunity has come up for experienced Support Workers to work in a specialist educational establishment in Carmarthenshire working with 16 - 24 years olds with ALD, physical disabilities and complex needs.
This role is challenging and rewarding. We are looking for people with great character and a desire to make a positive impact on young people's lives, and to provide students with support and guidance to help them engage in timetabled sessions in a safe and appropriate way.
The students benefit from an extensive range of nutritional, therapeutic, and medical support at each college that is reflected in the college sessions. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting a career across care and education.
To be considered for this role, you will need -
1. At least 6 months up to date UK based care experience
2. To be a driver with access to you own vehicle
3. Have a strong desire to support young people.
4. Ideally previous experience working with young people or in a similar setting.
5. Have excellent observational skills, and the ability to problem solve and think creatively to enable our young people to reimagine their potential
6. Be patient, caring, compassionate with a young person-centred nature
7. Demonstrate the ability to manage emotionally challenging situations with emotional intelligence and resilience, and to have the capacity to react calmly in stressful situations
8. Be a team player with experience of support work in both educational and residential setting.
