We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a thriving two-form entry primary school in Burnley. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working full-time in Year 2 to support a child with additional needs, helping to foster their learning, development, and well-being. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one support for a Year 2 student with additional needs, adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet the child’s individual requirements.
* Work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive learning environment and ensure the child’s engagement in classroom activities.
* Assist in planning and implementing individualized learning activities to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
* Monitor and document the child’s progress, communicating regularly with teachers, the SENDCo, and parents.
* Promote positive interactions and independence in the classroom, encouraging the child to develop confidence and resilience.
Requirements:
* Essential: Previous experience supporting children with additional needs in a school or similar setting.
* A genuine passion for working with young children and an understanding of inclusive education.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Commitment to fostering a supportive, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
