Are you a compassionate, professional and dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a SEN Teacher for a vibrant school with students aged 4-11 in Bromley specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) mild and severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
In this rewarding SEN Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as a SEN Teacher with experience in SEN will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy and numeracy skills. In this job, you will be able to focus on and develop one subject for students across students in KS1 and KS2.
The School
The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in Bromley for children with mild and severe learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs and allows the students to gain independence and life skills.
SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the SEN teacher in the classroom
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
SEN Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD/SLD
- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
