Intelligence Analyst – You will play a key part in identifying, analysing and researching potentially fraudulent claims. This, in turn, involves working closely with fee earners, assimilating information, conducting investigations and preparing reports. The opportunity demands a keen eye for detail and an inquisitive mind. This is a crucial role within the award-winning insurance fraud team of this major law firm.

3. Salary: £22,000 – £32,000
4. Reports to: Team Leader
5. Previous Experience: Excellent analytical skills and experience of drafting reports. Experience of software applications such as iBase, i2 Analysts Notebook, Excel. Experience of the Intelligence Cycle and the NIM (National Intelligence Model) would be useful, but is not crucial.
The role in context
This role is based within the Counter Insurance Fraud Team of a major national law firm. The role predominantly involves investigatory work and profiling where instances of possible fraud are flagged on a given matter or file. You will be trained and developed on the usage of a mixture of tools and techniques to detect potentially fraudulent activity or alternatively rule out any concerns about a given potentially fraudulent claim.
Intelligence analysts are expected to record their time and work to specific deadlines. The work demands a real appreciation of attention to detail and is crucial to the function of the wider team.
Intelligence Analyst – what the position involves
This position will suit anyone who enjoys analysing and interrogating data and information. The role is very varied and includes:
6. Analysing information to identify potentially fraudulent claims;
7. compiling reports on individuals suspected of fraudulent activity;
8. preparing witness evidence including witness statements to help support analysis;
9. Using iBase, i2 Analysts Notebook, Excel an other applications to help produce intelligence reports;
10. Briefing legal colleagues as well as clients on findings;
11. Preparing detailed and the intelligence used in complex fraud ring investigations.
