The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Leading a team to develop the strategies and plans for through-life support of systems and equipment on the Royal Navy’s new class of Type 26 Frigate.
Day-to-day, you’ll be part of an emerging area of the business focusing on developing through-life support mechanisms and processes that include but not limited to;
1. Developing and managing all financial aspects of the contract
2. Developing initial plans and budget forecasts for selected support through-life support solutions
3. Developing, production and managing safety and risk management strategies and plans
4. Managing the interface with internal and external stakeholders
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides a location flexible hybrid working arrangements. You will however need to be able react to the needs of the business which could mean working onsite as required.
Essential experience of the Project Manager:
5. Prior experience and a track record in delivering successful projects
6. Experience of full project life cycle including the ‘Business Winning Process’ would be an advantage
7. Knowledge of project controls tools and techniques and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making
8. Commercially and financially astute, with a challenging mind-set
9. Knowledge of project management methodologies and working practices
10. Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy of data
Qualifications for the Project Manager:
11. Engineering or Project Management qualification at HNC or above
12. APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) [formerly known as APMP] or equivalent Project Management qualifications
