Position : Senior Biomedical Scientist Immunohistochemistry Schedule : Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours, with weekend rota participation Location : London NW1 VISA sponsorship is available for candidates with valid UK visas. We are seeking a Senior Immunohistochemistry Biomedical Scientist to join a renowned medical diagnostics company. This company is at the forefront of healthcare diagnostics, delivering innovative solutions across laboratory medicine, pathology, imaging, and more. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Immunohistochemistry section, ensuring the highest scientific standards and the effective management of staff and investigations. Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations of the Immunohistochemistry section, including managing staff and complex investigations Maintain the highest scientific standards and contribute to continuous improvement within the department Collaborate with laboratory management to develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Ensure staff make correct decisions by utilizing advanced knowledge and experience Manage sample receipt, preparation, and referral in line with departmental policies Monitor and participate in internal and external Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities to maintain ISO 15189 accreditation Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain specialist equipment to ensure optimal operation Provide training, competency assessments, and support for staff development Participate in continuing professional development (CPD) activities Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and laboratory standards Requirements: BSc in Biomedical Sciences with HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist Evidence of CPD; Fellowship of the IBMS, MSc, or equivalent is desirable Experience in operating and troubleshooting complex laboratory equipment Knowledge of service improvement within pathology and experience working towards ISO 15189 Extensive experience in Immunohistochemistry and Quality Management Systems in pathology Strong knowledge of histopathology, basic physiology/pathology principles, and quality control processes Proven ability to manage and train staff, ensuring competency and development Experience with IPassport or similar systems is a plus Strong leadership and decision-making abilities Excellent communication and team collaboration skills What’s in it for You: Comprehensive Benefits : A robust benefits package, including healthcare and retirement plans Career Growth : Opportunities for professional development and career advancement Collaborative Environment : A supportive team environment where your contributions are valued If you're ready to advance your career and contribute to high-quality diagnostics, apply today To apply or for more information, please contact Manpreet Bhullar at manpreet.bhullarbiotalent.com or call 44 771 137 3242.
