Job Description
An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Laundry Supervisor to join the Rooms Department at Raffles London at the OWO.
Reporting into the Executive Housekeeper, you will maintain and repair all colleague uniforms to the highest standards when needed and provide a distinctive, high standard of workmanship when assisting with guest alteration works. To assist with distribution and tracking of staff uniform in a warm and timely manner and work closely with the laundry team to ensure the smooth running of the operation and to avoid any discrepancies. To act as an ambassador of the Raffles during your interaction with guests and colleagues.
Specifically, as the Laundry Supervisor, your responsibility’s will include:
1. To provide day-to- day direction & allocation of tasks to ensure a balanced work load on the shift
2. To actively engage with the team by holding daily meeting based on “ finger in the pulse “ / The Raffles standard and values
3. To ensure that the linen room team adheres to the Raffles/ The Owo grooming standards
4. To ensure the wellbeing of our team and highlight any concerns to Assistant executive/head executive housekeeper
5. To inspect and supervisor the laundry /linen room / uniform staff and seamstress staff achieving consistently the highest standard of cleanliness
6. To supervise the uniform room, the seamstress and the linen house team with the support of the Head Linen Porter
7. To ensure smooth running of floor team through effective team work
8. To monitor the Laundry team rota according to the forecast and manage laundry team’s holiday rota
9. To work with the Assistant Executive Housekeeper on delivering P&L performance
Who are we looking for?
10. Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in English, both verbal and written.
11. Recent experience within in 5-star hotels or a similar role
12. Market knowledge of competitors and event industry trends
13. Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering and offering the best service and experiences possible in any situation
14. Proven track record of surprising and delighting guests to provide exceptional service
15. Able to work within a team
16. Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
17. To be detail-oriented
