Job Description
I have an opportunity for a Materials Controller to join the leading supplier of rail door system related modification, maintenance, and overhaul services to the UK rail and rolling stock sector.
You will provide logistics and materials support for the day-to-day operations and projects taking place, which will include using their in-house systems (M-Files, Cim50, Sage50).
This role will involve various responsibilities from Stock/Inventory Management, Goods Inward, Goods Outward, Material returns & customer repairs and Waste Management and Workshop Cleanliness.
Key responsibilities for this Materials Controller role:
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager with quality checking, picking, and issuing of components.
- Report shortages and stock discrepancies.
- Perform annual stocktaking duties, including weekly spot checks.
- Check in deliveries by verifying delivery notes against the purchase order.
- Pack, label, and dispatch products/orders, ensuring compliance with company procedures and accurate use of internal systems.
- Courier and delivery coordination - book courier services for collections and deliveries using their portal.
- Assist with sorting and recycling waste to maintain cleanliness in the workshop and surrounding areas.
Experience required for this Materials Controller role:
- Stores/Material control experience
- Knowledge of engineering/production environments - desirable
- Previous experience with CIM/SAGE - desirable
- Excellent time and workload management
- IT proficiency - Microsoft Office Suite
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in an operations/store environment
Package offered for this Materials Controller role:
- Circa £27,000/£14ph
- 37 hours per week
- Monday to Friday
