Job Description
We are currently looking for a Mechanically biased, Multiskilled Maintenance Technician to join an innovative, renowned manufacturing business based in Birtley. The Multiskilled Maintenance Technician role is permanent and will receive a salary between £36,750 and £42,574. Overtime is available and will be required to be part of an on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Respond to and work on electrical and mechanical faults, breakdowns, and preventative maintenance tasks. A number of tasks will require individuals to work at height, so individuals must be comfortable in this environment.
2. Support, engage, and interact with departments and individuals across the site as well as with external subcontractors and suppliers.
3. Focus on adding value. Your role will require you to work to company standards, processes, and procedures while supporting functional areas, working across teams, and resolving issues as requested.
4. Deliver your responsibilities efficiently and with integrity, demonstrating a positive attitude.
5. Demonstrate strong communication skills and adopt a proactive approach to developing new skills.
6. Typically, the work will cover a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding, and ongoing planned maintenance of complex automated equipment. This requires a complex blend of skills, knowledge, and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems disciplines.
Specific Duties Include:
1. Read and interpret relevant data and documentation used to maintain components, equipment, and systems.
2. Carry out condition monitoring of plant and equipment.
3. Carry out planned maintenance activities on plant and equipment.
4. Conduct complex fault diagnosis and repair activities on high-technology engineered systems, such as:
1. Maintaining mechanical equipment
2. Maintaining fluid & pneumatic power equipment
3. Maintaining electrical & electronic equipment
4. Maintaining process control equipment
5. Carry out confirmation testing and subsequent smooth handover of equipment and plant to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment.
The Multiskilled Maintenance Technician will be time served and experienced within the mechanical maintenance field.
