As an Industrial Civil Engineer at Heathrow, your role extends to every part of the airport, including Passenger Terminals and Buildings, Substations, Offices, Workshops, terminals, Bus stations etc to name a few. Building Fabrics, Interiors, Structure and Envelope assets are the primary focus of your role. From concept project stage for new construction to the end of life and asset replacement, all whilst promoting sustainable engineering decisions.

1. Asset Strategies and Standards - Work closely with the Senior Civil Engineers supporting the development of our Asset Strategies and Asset Standards, deciding what we do to our assets and how we do it. Using these strategies and standards to define detailed asset maintenance plans and asset renewal/investment plans.
2. Reviewing the asset strategies, standards and plans and ensuring they are understood and applied effectively across Heathrow.
3. Reviewing and supporting requests to deviate and leading the engineering acceptance of products and materials.
4. Asset performance - Developing a thorough and quantified understanding of how our assets perform in terms of cost, risk and service performance.
5. Managing Risk, Assurance and Investigations - Support assurance activities on delivery teams within capital delivery projects and maintenance teams to ensure asset plans are being robustly applied and have appropriate plans in place to manage risk.
6. Civil Engineering master’s or bachelor’s degree or qualified through experience.
7. Influential skills at all levels of the organisation to drive the overall agenda for asset management and execution of the strategy.
8. Ability to work with and manage technical and professional stakeholders to achieve defined outcomes.
9. Knowledge of developing business cases and the ability to translate and present data and technical knowledge in a meaningful way.
