A client within the public sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for an Asbestos Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to conduct thorough asbestos surveys, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and providing expert advice to ensure the safety of council properties and the community.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out the full range of Building Control surveying activities including site inspections and plan appraisals.
2. Investigate dangerous structures and respond to customer enquiries.
3. Coordinate statutory consultations and demolitions.
4. Liaise with experts, internal and external stakeholders.
5. Proactively manage contravening building works and enforce the requirements of the building regulations through effective enforcement in line with service policies and procedures and the Operational Standards Rules published by the Building Safety Regulator.
6. Investigate alleged breaches of building regulations, gather evidence and attend court as required.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require a NEBOSH Certificate in Asbestos Management or equivalent qualification or experience. You will also require a valid driving license.
It will be essential to have experience in the below:
1. Relevant experience in asbestos surveying and management.
2. Knowledge of current asbestos regulations and best practices.
3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
