The main purpose of the role:
We currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our friendly team covering both Boveridge College and The Beeches School.
The support services teams are an essential pillar in enabling the children and young adults to achieve their full potential.
The role requires emphasis on Health & Safety relevant to the premises ensuring that the building and grounds are continually fit for purpose for students and staff to enable them to fulfil their roles.
This job involves various duties to help the Site maintenance manager keep the site property in good order, carrying out general maintenance, and repairs to the building, and planned maintenance. This will require a high level of attention to detail to promote the character of the building.
Key Duties
1. Carry out repairs and maintenance to a high standard in a proactive approach.
2. Conduct regular inspections and ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the college and school.
3. Keep a record of all the day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken
4. Comply with all corporate policies regarding Health and Safety whilst carrying out maintenance functions.
5. Report defects, damages and malfunctions to the Maintenance Team Leader
6. Ensure the effective completion of all tasks.
7. Play a full part in building good relationships with other staff, students and stakeholders.
8. Carry out regular planned maintenance inspection on services, utilities and the building fabric throughout the college report findings and take necessary actions.
9. Ensure that all emergencies are dealt with speedily and effectively

Skills and Qualifications
Successful candidate qualities:
10. General maintenance knowledge ,basic tasks related to joinery, electrical fittings and plumbing
11. Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations
12. Understanding of hot & cold water systems
13. Knowledge of good working trade practices.
14. Due to our rural location access to transport and a drivers licence is essential
