The Team - Our Fire Engineering Division
Our Fire Engineering team is one of the UK’s largest operating within a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy. It’s growing reputation for quality and responsiveness has resulted in exceptional growth and the group is now represented in all regional capitals within England, Scotland and Wales.
You will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines within the Bristol region and have an existing project portfolio which includes high-profile projects with regional, national and international clients.

Bristol is one region of six that the Fire Engineering Division operate in, throughout the UK and international markets, with over 100 staff in the Fire Safety Division.
Projects: We have a diverse portfolio of work, operating in the typical sectors of Residential, Commercial and Education, as well as more specialist sectors such as Aviation, Battery Storage, Data Centres, Healthcare, High-Hazard and Nuclear.
The team provides the following services to clients:
1. Advisement on applicable codes, standards and guidance
2. Fire engineering design and analysis
3. Fire strategy development
4. Advisement on regulatory code compliance
5. Means of escape design and analysis
6. Evacuation analysis and pedestrian flow modelling
7. Structural fire protection design and analysis
8. Structural optimization analysis
9. Fire impact analysis
10. External fire spread analysis
11. Smoke control design and analysis
12. Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis
13. Design and specification of fire protection systems
14. Construction phase consultation service
15. Third party peer review.
Post occupation services:
16. Fire management plan development
17. Fire evacuation plan development
18. Fire risk assessment.
As a Fire Engineer within our busy fire engineering team, you will have project management responsibilities for the delivery of fire engineering. You will support the Director of Fire Engineering to implement the company business plan, managing a team of up to ten people in the delivery of fire engineering projects, while supporting existing clients and develop new opportunities.
What you will be responsible for:
19. Leading a team delivering Fire Engineering design on a number of projects at any one time
20. Management of team projects, providing technical support to peers as necessary
21. Ensure effective management of project time within appointed scope
22. Early-stage strategic input to design at concept stage
23. Detailed design to construction status information and beyond into Post Occupancy Evaluation
24. Writing and contributing to fee proposals
25. Review technical documents and fire strategies prepared by others
26. Ensure team well-being within reasonable working hours
What skills and attributes are we looking for?
27. BSc/ BEng/ MSc/ MEng or equivalent
28. Experienced working in a fire engineering consultancy, delivering fire strategy and fire safety consultancy services
29. Passion and talent for fire engineering
30. A confident, outgoing and fun person who enjoys being part of a busy team
31. An articulate communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills
32. A self-starter who is tenacious in concluding tasks
33. Someone with drive, ambition and enjoys change and variety
