We are looking for a paraplanner that wishes to develop their career into a wider role within the business but we’re not looking for an individual that wishes to transition from a paraplanner to a financial adviser. Our firm is a small and very friendly Independent Chartered Financial Practice located in the wonderful town of Stony Stratford, and we have a reputation for delivering the highest level of advice and ongoing service to our range of individual and business clients in the Milton Keynes area. The role will include working alongside 2 Chartered Financial Planners along with our team in our Stony Stratford office and will be mainly office based, although hybrid working flexibility is an option after the successful completion of the probation period. The Role The position involves a wide variety of tasks associated with managing and advising a range of high net worth and business clients in the area of holistic financial planning, tax planning, investments, estate planning, retirement planning and protection within a directly authorised firm. It includes: Assisting in producing accurate, compliant and complex advisory reports across the full range of individual and corporate advisory areas Research, analysis and development of client financial planning strategies in conjunction with a financial planner Diary and task management for financial planners and own workload Cash flow planning Client advisory work including applications, illustrations, quotes, submissions, etc. Checking client review reports so that they are ready to be handed over to the adviser Attending client review meetings and handling post meeting action points / queries / tasks Dealing with client contact and queries and assisting in client ongoing relationships Work alongside the team to contribute to the development of Vizion Wealth as a whole Attending and participating in our Investment Committee in relation to our in-house Discretionary Fund Management portfolio management Ensure Vizion Wealth policies and best practice are adhered to, including customer care, data protection and anti-money laundry, at all times Involvement in compliance policy and management of various business development projects Attend relevant training courses when necessary Ongoing completion of a mutually agreed personal development plan Ensuring all client information is updated in line with client portal updates (CashCalc) Ensure technical knowledge & CPD is continually updated Development of skills over time to take on more tasks within the business General admin support as and when needed What You Need At least 2 years of paraplanning experience working in an IFA or financial advisory business Previous experience of completing Paraplanning tasks such as research, analysis and assisting in formulating client reports, ideally within a multi adviser practice Industry relevant qualifications and have preferably passed the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or Level 4 industry qualification Desire to develop knowledge and qualifications Passion for the industry and continuous improvement / development Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and maintain a high level of consistent and accurate output Ability to work autonomously while still forming part of the team and achieve results in an evolving business Highly organised, strong task and diary management with a continuous improvement and personal development mindset Good verbal, numerical and written communication skills Strong IT skills with good knowledge of using a client back-office systems, platforms, research tools and Microsoft Office (or similar) especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint and CashCalc (or similar) Good interpersonal skills and comfortable conversing with HNW individuals and business owners A good team player, to ensure our clients’ needs are always met Strong attention to detail A flexible work ethic Willingness to become involved in other aspects of the business Benefits: Highly competitive salary and progression based on merit 25 days per annum holiday plus Bank Holidays Working within a flexible and friendly local practice Study & professional qualification support available Regular attendance at CPD & Learning events Contributory pension scheme via salary sacrifice Christmas & Annual staff bonus scheme Regular team social events Salary sacrifice available for electric cars and bike to work schemes Ample free parking and the amenities of Stony Stratford Protection policy benefits If you feel you are ready for the next step in your paraplanner career, apply now
