Overview
This senior management role, reporting to the Managing Director, is responsible for all aspects of manufacturing a unique range of handmade luxury furniture. With a small team of highly skilled production operatives and an admin team, the person will be responsible for optimising output, maximising efficiency, building strong relationships with suppliers, and total responsibility for quality systems and controls.
Responsibilities
1. Scheduling:
o Create and monitor Production Master Schedule ensuring achievement of business financial targets and client deadlines.
o Create frame and workshop job sheets.
o Create client job sheets for final approval.
2. Production Management:
o Holding the team accountable for their production targets and deadlines.
o Ensuring the team is meeting and exceeding the business financial targets by completing jobs on time.
o Final Quality control – signing off all jobs.
o Managing the workshop operative and prioritising their workload to the needs of the business.
3. Materials Management:
o Fabric receipt and enter job number to calendar.
o Monthly stocktake.
o Calculation of materials weekly or monthly for ordering by the Logistics Administrator (LA).
o Establish a comprehensive purchase ordering system (to communicate with LA and future office roles).
o Materials resource planning – establishing best purchasing practices amongst all suppliers.
o Supplier development.
o Review and make necessary changes to the way we source supplies (eg. frames in bulk/split payments).
o Ensuring all materials arrive in the workshop on time for production via either client or fabric houses.
o Ordering all frames, standard, custom, and bespoke.
4. Administration:
o Checking all order details, from dimensions to design details, and communicating those clearly to clients and the team.
o Update Excel with new and standard models (measurement, materials, methods).
o Health and safety in the workshop, logging any accidents in our accident book, adhering to rules and regulations, keeping records up to date.
o New Staff induction.
o Holiday approvals.
o Answering office phone.
5. Client contact:
o Checking and sending job sheets to clients for sign off.
o Updating clients with latest job information and obtaining outstanding information before a job is in manufacture.
o Liaising with the team for rail heights, skirt rails, etc.
o Working with clients on deadlines for bespoke frames to be signed off ready for frame order.
o Liaising with clients throughout production for any changes to sizes, fabrics, progress images, etc.
12 month progress plan subject to successful financial targets: Revised salary to increase to £50K p.a. The role to progress into management of all workshop staff with full reporting to the MD once a month, including monthly one-on-ones, note taking, and liaising with the company's HR company to apply all relevant HR processes as the team grows and changes.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
