Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. A good honours degree in Physics or related subject and / or equivalent knowledge / experience.
2. Relevant M.Sc. and successful completion of the STP training scheme in an appropriate specialism.
3. HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist (Medical Physics). OR close to completing STP
4. Full UK driving license.
Skills
Essential criteria
5. Knowledge & experience of appropriate non-ionising radiations legislation, QC and optimisation techniques.
6. Able to use Excel, Word, Access etc. to set up documents, spreadsheets and databases and extract information. Able to use specialized software to analyse complex data. Much of the complex NIR equipment used is software based
7. Understanding of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines
8. Understanding of hazards posed by, and precautions needed with non-ionising radiation
Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Understanding of risks arising from a range of imaging & treatment techniques
10. Understanding of patient and staff risks arising from non-ionising radiation exposure
11. Experience working / training in appropriate specialism/s within Medical Physics.
