Deputy Manager – Supported Living
Location: 2 Castlehill, Drumcoo, Dungannon, BT70 1JP
Salary: £28, per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week average - normally Monday to Friday

The Role:
As the Deputy Manager at Depaul’s Castlehill site, you will play a vital role in supporting the Project Group Manager in the efficient and effective management of the assigned portfolio, working within the principle of harm reduction. Responsible for the day-to-day running of your portfolio, you will provide care and support to the specific client group. Additionally, the Deputy Manager will be part of an on-call rota.
About Castlehill
Castlehill is a supported temporary accommodation service, based in Dungannon, with 22 self-catering apartments, including 6 apartments that are suitable for couples. The service also offers a range of communal areas that residents can access. The service offers 24/7 support, for homeless people aged 18 and over. The professionally trained team work to low threshold and harm reduction principles, meaning they support people in a flexible way that they can manage and offering them every assistance to plan and make more positive choices for their future.
Responsibilities:
Staffing:
1. Provide support and supervision to project workers and volunteers.
2. Assist in developing and delivering an in-depth induction program for new staff.
3. Assess training and development needs, coordinating training opportunities.
4. Assist in recruitment and interviewing of service staff, relief workers, and volunteers.
5. Maintain accurate staff records.
Volunteers:
6. Assist in the development and training of volunteers for service delivery.
Health and Safety:
7. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards.
8. Oversee maintenance and repair of property furnishings to a high standard.
9. Attend joint management meetings in the Project Group Manager's absence.
10. Ensure incident and accident reports are completed per policy.
Finance:
11. Implement and adhere to local financial procedures.
12. Ensure project expenditure aligns with the budget.
Service Delivery:
13. Ensure practical needs of service users meet funder requirements.
14. Maintain regularly reviewed risk assessments and support plans.
15. Ensure adequate staff rota coverage and cover shifts as needed.
16. Review and update local project procedures.
Team Work:
17. Chair and assist in arranging weekly team meetings and review days.
18. Maintain an effective team approach.
General:
19. Continuously develop the role in consultation with the Line Manager.
20. Undertake duties in a professional manner, aligning with Depaul's values.
21. Maintain records using Depaul's client management system.
22. Produce accurate and reliable reports.
23. Attend service, organizational, and external meetings as required.
Person Requirements:
24. Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent in Community, Health, or Social Science.
25. At least 2 years' experience working with marginalised groups, ideally those with addictions and/or experiencing homelessness
26. However if you do not have one of the above listed qualifications but have at least 2 years experience providing direct line management support and at least 2 years experience working with marginalised groups, ideally with people who have addictions and/or are homeless we would like to see your CV.
27. Ability to use initiative and sound decision-making skills, including in emergency situations
28. Ability to work within budget constraints
29. Effective liaison with other service providers and representation at a management level
30. Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources available to homeless individuals
