Reporting directly to the Compliance Director, you will ensure that the business complies with the rules and requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This is a unique and varied role in which you will be exposed to many areas of the business. You will work with the Compliance Director, to develop and maintain the compliance monitoring plan and the provision of regulatory advice to the business and play an active part in the wider Legal and Compliance Team.
Alongside the Director, you will ensure the culture within the business is one where customers are considered in everything undertaken, and through engagement with the business, ensuring that all processes, new initiatives, and customer interactions are based upon good ethical values. You will work with the Central Compliance and Ethics team to deliver central compliance requirements.
Working within the Compliance team you will play a pivotal role by being the primary point of contact for our NSC business units. You’ll partner with our business units, stakeholders and suppliers by taking a lead role in providing specialist regulatory and compliance support.
This is a new role and will be responsible for one or more direct reports, reporting into the Compliance Director. We have a hybrid working model whereby colleagues can work a minimum of one to two days in our Pinley House office. Flexibility is expected and you can work in the office more if you’d prefer.
This role is Certified under the Senior Managers and Certification Regime. As a Certified role within Stellantis UK you are expected to demonstrate and to meet the FCA’s good repute requirements. You must lead by example to influence the corporate culture and strive to ensure excellent standards of conduct across the organisation. You must be able to meet certification requirements on an annual basis.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Key Areas of Responsibility:
7. Financial services legislation and regulation, including, but not limited to, the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, including relevant regulations and secondary legislation, and the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority as they apply to the UK Group
8. Relevant data protection legislation and requirements, including those of the Information Commissioner, GDPR, etc.
Compliance Responsibilities:
9. Responsible for providing regulatory compliance advice to the business on all FCA regulatory matters
10. Maintaining and updating the Compliance Manual, Compliance Monitoring plan, and other associated compliance documentation as well as taking lead on breaches and notifications, and providing appropriate reporting to management
11. You will need to deliver ad hoc compliance training on new initiatives as and when required and work with training to develop regulatory training for all staff
12. Driving a culture of compliance across the group with a focus on the voice of a consumer
13. Taking the lead to ensure the business has effective systems, procedures and controls for compliance with requirements and standards under the regulatory system, including a proportionate risk management framework
14. Support to the Compliance Director to provide assurance that the UK Group complies with Data Protection requirements, including GDPR, and security of other data relevant to activities for which responsible
15. Ensure that the senior management team is aware of its responsibilities and obligations in conducting the business in conformity with such FCA rules & regulations as to maintain the Brand(s) reputation and deliver good customer outcomes
16. Working with our UK business areas to advise on regulatory requirements and compliance issues, whilst providing strategic directions on compliance
17. In conjunction with the HR function, ensure that all obligations under the SMCR regime are fully implemented in a timely manner
18. Review the existing risk management framework and implement any key actions identified to ensure a proportionate approach to risk management across the UK Group
19. Support and management of a risk-based approach to compliance of supplier & third-party management and due diligence processes; advise on requirements, support reviews & approval processes, track and implement process changes based on regulatory developments
20. Responsible for the continued review and monitoring of adherence to the Consumer Duty requirements as issued by the Financial Conduct Authority
21. Working closely and collaboratively with CEC 2nd line team to develop and strengthen the 2nd line compliance controls the for effective and compliant management of our customer facing operations
Person Requirements:
22. The successful candidate will have a relevant degree, legal qualification or equivalent compliance certification are desirable but not essential where appropriate alternative experience is demonstrable
23. A proven compliance professional who can demonstrate up to date industry compliance/regulatory framework knowledge in consumer credit and insurance distribution activities
24. Proven Compliance advisory experience and experience of providing written and verbal advice to 1st Line business areas on the implications of regulatory requirements is needed along with experience of drafting policies, advisory notes/memos, operating processes and procedures
25. Detailed technical knowledge and understanding of FCA sourcebooks – PRIN, CONC, DISP, SYSC, PROD and legislative frameworks such as Consumer Credit, Data Protection Act including GDPR is essential for the role.
26. Solid knowledge of Consumer Duty and delivery of fair customer outcomes along with sound understanding of the FCA’s expectations in relation to the treatment of vulnerable customers is essential.
27. Experience operating an effective compliance risk management programme
28. Experience of working in a relevant automotive industry would be desirable
29. You will need the ability to communicate clearly and concisely on complex regulatory compliance issues and be able to engage with business stakeholders at all levels to achieve appropriate customer and commercial outcomes
30. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, including influencing, educating and reporting to Senior Management
31. The role requires you to work under tight deadlines, prioritise under pressure, and respond to changing demands, be self-motivated with the ability to energise and develop others
32. Be comfortable working autonomously and leading on key risk and compliance topics
33. Full driving license is a requirement due to business travel
34. Experience in a Customer Service environment (Desirable)
35. E xperience in Motor/Motor Finance industry (Desirable)
Salary and Benefits
£58,000 – £65,000 dependent on experience, Company Car, 26 Days Annual Leave, Calex Employee Benefits Packages (Inc Private GP and Healthcare Services, High Street Discounts, Discounted Gym Memberships and on Demand 24 Hour Wellbeing Service (Counselling and Advice).
This is a hybrid position, with the expectation of a minimum of 1 day a week in the office. There will also be some regular business travel expected. Working Hours Monday to Friday.
