Portsmouth Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well structured team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.
Portsmouth City Council occupational therapy service has been reviewing all clients who were issued bed rails and bedgrab handles by them
A face to face risk assessment is carried out with the client to ensure the equipment they were issued continues to be appropriate and safe to use
This temporary locum post is to specifically support this piece of work to ensure we comply with the MHRA alert in a timely manner.Have expertise in moving and handling a person in bed.
Understand normal movement patterns and their application to bed transfers
Be able to recognise risk factors of using bed grab handles and bedrails
Have a good understanding of the application of the Menatl Capacity Act
Recognise how atypical anatomy may increase risk
Understand the correct use and fitting of equipment and be confident to explain this to clients and their carers.
Understand the importance of safeguarding policy and procedures and integrate and implement these into your work.
