Role Purpose
We’re seeking a Proposals Manager to join our Work-Winning Team. This role is critical to the success of Careys’ 5-Year Strategic Plan and regional goals. You will lead on preparing major tenders, support smaller submissions, and help ensure our proposals reflect our commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
Reporting to the Preconstruction Director, you’ll collaborate closely with Proposals Managers, Submissions Coordinators, Estimators, Planners, and Operational Teams to manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring effective preparation, review, and submission of winning proposals.
What you will be doing:
Bid Leadership: Lead major tenders and coordinate smaller bids, taking ownership of end-to-end submission processes, including key stakeholder engagement.
Content Development: Collaborate with subject matter experts, lead storyboarding sessions, and ensure client needs are reflected in high-quality written proposals.
Team Support: Provide guidance to Bid Coordinators, support workload distribution, and ensure adherence to processes and standards.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development of our submissions library and support the implementation of best practices across the Work-Winning Team.

Our story starts in 1969 with three brothers and a van.
John, Tom and Pat Carey moved to London from Ireland and started a groundworks contracting company in London called PJ Carey Plant Hire (Oval) Ltd.
Their aspirations at the time were reflective of the values of the Carey Group today – to care about everything they did, to act with humility in all interactions, to be passionate about their work and be authentic at all times.
The Carey Group remains a family-owned construction business, operating across the UK and Ireland. Their goal at the time was to grow to around 50 operatives and provide quality, safe work so that they and their employees could provide for their families and get safe home every day. Through hard work and sticking to their values and their word, this was certainly achieved….and some.
