Position Overview:
As a Smart Building Business Manager, you will lead the expansion of my clients smart building services across Southwest England and Wales. This role involves spearheading strategic partnerships, managing operational delivery, and driving financial performance. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring growth within both retrofit and new-build construction markets, while contributing to the company's overall strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Strategy:
Develop and execute a robust regional business plan aligned with company objectives.
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand the smart building market presence.
Collaborate with the sales team to increase market share, ensuring growth in retrofit and new build sectors.
Operational Leadership:
Lead a team of engineers and sales professionals, ensuring the achievement of business objectives and budget targets.
Oversee all aspects of operational delivery, ensuring efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Implement performance metrics, regularly monitoring team progress and optimizing operations for maximum efficiency.
Financial & Commercial Management:
Manage budgets with a focus on financial performance and compliance.
Conduct accurate forecasting and reporting, presenting findings to senior management.
Build strong relationships to ensure commercial and financial objectives are met and clearly communicated across all levels.
Team Leadership & Development:
Conduct performance management reviews, setting clear objectives and identifying skill gaps.
Develop tailored training and development plans, fostering a high-performance culture.
Inspire and motivate teams, setting clear direction and encouraging innovation.
Market Intelligence:
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic decision-making.
Identify market opportunities, ensuring differentiation and competitive advantage.
Required Skills & Experience:
Leadership Experience: Proven success leading engineering teams and overseeing the maintenance of high-profile buildings.
Industry Knowledge: Strong background in the construction industry, ideally within the Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) sector.
Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies with clear objectives.
Commercial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including budget management, forecasting, and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.
Innovative Mindset: Ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive innovative solutions.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel to different sites; a full driving license is required.
