A leading manufacturer suppling into the construction industry in Northern Ireland. The company serves a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, civil engineering, and construction, offering an extensive portfolio of products.
Role and responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing, supplier selection, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
2. Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets, while managing supplier relationships and performance.
3. Collaborate with departments (production, finance, operations) to align procurement with business needs and streamline processes.
4. Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and resolve supply issues to ensure smooth operations and minimize costs.
5. Ensure compliance with company policies, Brexit-related customs paperwork, and stay updated on market trends and regulatory requirements.
Essential:
6. 1+ years of experience as a Buyer within and engineering / construction function.
7. Strong negotiation and contract management skills
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Packages.
10. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the procurement team.
11. Willingness to be flexible to suit business needs.
