The role
will involve communicating directly with stakeholders across the region, to manage a seamless process of support to encourage a wide-ranging portfolio of events within the County.
The post holder will also support the Senior Events Officer to deliver initiatives which support the wider delivery of the Culture Strategy, Destination Plan and the emerging Neath Port Talbot Events Strategy.
This successful candidate should have a degree in a relevant discipline and experience of managing and organising events.
The main duties of the post include.
1. Provide expert advice and guidance both within the Council and to external event organisers on the feasibility of any new outdoor events.
2. Devise, deliver and manage events and festivals run by the council.
3. Provide expert advice and assistance to event organisers to deliver safe, well attended and well managed events in the County Borough
4. Design a programme of support and seek funding to deliver initiatives which upskill event organisers within the area so that they are better prepared to meet the common challenges faced when organising events.
5. Liaise with departments across the Council to facilitate a seamless service to event organisers.
6. Actively participate in the Safety Advisory Group process.
7. Monitor events taking place within the county and feed information into the Commercial Marketing, Tourism and Corporate Communications Teams to ensure events are promoted widely.
8. Undertake detailed review and evaluation processes for events delivered by the Council to inform effectiveness against objectives and to inform future working practices.
9. Develop a close working relationships with commercial and community event organisers and promoters and key regional and national partners.
10. Engage and communicate regularly with local partners, government bodies, local communities and local Councillors in relation to events taking place in the area.
You will have experience in/of;
11. Experience in organising and managing events
12. Experience of dealing with the public
13. A basic understanding of statutory and legislative requirements especially Health and safety, premise licensing and Safety Advisory Group process
14. Experience of working in partnership to achieve common aims.
