Key Responsibilities
As Safer Roads Partnership Manager you’ll lead the development of our new South Yorkshire strategic plan to achieve our Vision Zero ambition. You’ll manage the Safer Roads Partnership team and, crucially, work collaboratively at a senior level with all our partners from across the region to develop and implement the plan. You will be passionate about ensuring that our work is driven by high quality data and cutting-edge evidence about what works to reduce road deaths and injuries.
You’ll lead the relationship with South Yorkshire Police to ensure effective road enforcement activity and work closely police officers to improve intelligence gathering and analysis to ensure an evidence-led approach to all road safety interventions. Alongside Local Authority partners you will manage communications work and commission interventions to support behaviour change. You will also work closely with National Highways on the interface with the strategic local road network to ensure the safe and effective operation of the networks in South Yorkshire.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You’ll have previous experience of working at a senior management level in a complex and political organisation and have awareness of public sector decision making and governance, with a good understanding of the South Yorkshire policy context.
You’ll have the ability to build effective partnerships and be a skilled communicator with proven experience working with multiple stakeholders and engaging with a wide range of audiences.
It is essential that you have experience of developing, proposing and implementing effective strategic and operational plans. You’ll also have experience of programme management including planning, resource management and action plan development to deliver strategic objectives and translating data into insight and complex information into actionable intelligence to drive forward a targeted action plan.
