SEN Teaching Assistant needed for Supporting Students with Diverse Needs for a School in Orpington
Are you dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We are looking for a compassionate and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Orpington. In this role, you will be working with students who have a range of needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, behavioral needs, and some wheelchair users.

Start Date: Immediate
Role : Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm short and long term roles
Salary : £85 to £95 per day PAYE
Role Overview:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a variety of learning needs, including PMLD, SLD, ASD, SEMH, and behavioral challenges.
Assist with personal care and mobility needs for students, including those who use wheelchairs.
Support students in managing challenging behaviors using appropriate strategies.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Help create a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential – full training provided).
A patient, caring, and flexible approach to supporting students with complex needs.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Willingness to assist with personal care and physical support where necessary.
