Head of Science:
A school in North Bristol is working with Protocol Education to appoint an inspiring and ambitious Head of Science. The sucsessful candidate will contribute positively to the supportive Science Department and get the very best of each pupil across the school, regardless of background or ability.
This role as Head of Science entails the oversight of Biology, Physics and Chemistry. You will mainly be responsible for providing inspiration, support, leadership and enthusiasm for both students and staff - ensuring high quality and engaging learning, resulting in excellent outcomes.

Roles and responsibilities:
Overall, your main responsibility as Head of Science will be to provide leadership and management within the Science Department and curriculum team, in order to obtain the highest quality teaching, maintain high standards of learning and for excellent achievement for all students.
8. Have knowledge and understanding of curriculum requirements, requirements for assessment, recording and reporting of attainment and progress.
9. Have knowledge and understanding of new subject-specific learning, pedagogy and research.
10. Set out and maintain high expectations for all students and staff.
11. Work with SENCO to help students with EHCP, SEMH, SEN, ASD etc. be sucsessful in the learning.
12. Contribute to whole school aims regarding behaviour and school environment.
13. Work closely within the department to ensure that all teachers are clear with expectations of curriculum, learning and lesson outcomes and assessments.
14. Analyse and evaluate data - identifying areas for improvement - always striving for the best outcomes for the students.

Hours: Contractual – hours. (08:00-3:30pm)
