About the roles
These roles will work respectively in our responsive and planned maintenance teams. However, the successful post holders will need to be strong team players who are prepared to be flexible in their workload to support vacancies, annual leave and workload pressures across the wider team.
We rely on our Surveyors to deliver high quality timely, "right first time" repairs and improvements which meet our residents’ high expectations.
These roles are also key to our successful delivery of the Regulator of Social Housing’s new Consumer Standards and the expectations of Awaab’s Law.
Many of our homes are in the local conservation area where you’ll contribute to the development of improvement programmes, estate repairs and the sustainability of communities.
About you
All our Surveyors should possess:
1. Excellent empathy with our residents irrespective of their background or circumstances
2. First class technical knowledge of all forms of domestic construction, defect identification and specification of remedial work
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing for a variety of audiences.
4. Robust experience of managing contractors’ work with the confidence and knowledge to address poor performance where necessary.
5. Awareness of value for money and the ability to manage project specific and workstream budgets effectively.
6. An aptitude for the use of office and mobile information technology including specialist asset and repairs management systems.
7. Knowledge of up-to-date compliance and health and safety requirements applicable to building safety in social housing and construction related activities.
8. In depth knowledge of diagnosing and remedying mould, damp and condensation issues in homes.
9. The knowledge, experience and confidence to work independently, to be self-directed to deliver successful outcomes.
10. A recognised qualification in a building related subject (NVQ, HNC, City and Guild, Diploma, RICS, CIOB, RIBA) or equivalent work experience.
Please note that this role will be subject to a DBS check.
