As a result of funding, we have a unique opportunity over the next twelve months for an Executive Assistant to work at the heart of the central team.
This role offers both flexible and hybrid working.
Position: Executive Assistant (internal job title Executive Coordinator)
Location: Hove/hybrid
Salary: £36,500 per annum
Hours: Full-time (flexible working)
Contract: Fixed term 12 months
Closing Date: 18th August 2024
Interview Date: 28th August 2024 in Hove
About the Role
The organisation needs to develop a strategy and plans across Sussex, leading to a major application for funding from the national church. The Bishops are the key leaders in the diocese, but the work of drawing the strategy together and presenting the case for funding falls to the Diocesan Secretary (effectively CEO of the support organisation based in Hove). The Executive Assistant is crucial to creating additional capacity to support this.
You will both co-ordinate and carry out projects and analysis, principally working with team leaders and others in the diocesan office, but also across the diocese. You will also provide some executive administrative support.
About You
As to your background – there are many possibilities from starting out in your career or heading into retirement – we’re not prescriptive. What matters is that you can demonstrate that you:
1. Have the thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to get projects moving – most likely through completing a degree with a good result.
2. Have experience of providing high-level administration support.
3. Are a strong communicator in both writing and verbally – able to explain clearly what’s needed and gain the support of colleagues as necessary to get the job done.
4. Have the initiative and follow through to succeed. You can demonstrate that you’ve taken the initiative to go beyond what’s demanded of you in some way – either through work, or perhaps through the D of E scheme, or through travel, or actively pursuing hobbies and interests.
5. Are passionate about helping the church thrive and committed to our mission of wanting to see people across Sussex know, love and follow Jesus.
