We have an exciting opportunity for a Cook to work within our Lister Project. Lister is a Recovery focused residential service where we support people to learn or regain independent living skills.
For our perfect candidate we are offering a two-week rolling rota, working within a caring, friendly team, with wonderful residents.
- 5 days one week (Mon-Fri – 10am-6pm)
- 5 days the next working week (3 midweek days 10-6pm and Sat/Sunday weekend shift - 8 – 2pm (working one weekend in every two),
More about the role:
* To prepare, cook and serve healthy nutritious food - Lunch and Dinner for up to 25 residents.
* To order goods to be used in the kitchen and to operate the stock control.
* To work in accordance with and maintain health and safety procedures.
* To clean all areas of the kitchen and assist in domestic chores.
* To liaise with the other cook and Registered Manager to ensure a coordinated approach is maintained.
* To involve residents in menu choices and the preparation of food where appropriate.
Who you are:
* Have previous experience or the ability to follow and plan menu’s working within a set budget.
* Experience of or ability to co-ordinate stock controls and the ordering of food.
* Knowledge / training in food hygiene.
* Knowledge / training in health and safety within the kitchen.
* Experience of or understanding of providing foods for people with specific dietary needs.
