Senior Architectural Lighting Designer - Manchester / London

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?
* Working with a creative team to innovate solutions for architectural lighting projects.
* Undertake a pro-active client facing role, you will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively co-ordinate with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, architects, interior design teams.
* Producing detailed design drawings, bespoke luminaire design, lighting integration and engineering drawings.
* Communicating with clients to establish their needs and maintaining a dialogue throughout projects.
* Strong technical knowledge and wide-ranging experience in leading projects from concept through to delivery on site, including assisting with commissioning and handover including snagging, and in-use assistance to clients.
* Producing lighting designs, sketches, graphical output drawings, specifications, proposals, design reports, lighting calculations, and technical lighting control schematics.
* Engaging with lighting manufacturers and contractors.
* Supervising, reviewing and coordinating the work of other team members and coordinating work with other disciplines.
* Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
* Advanced planning and organisation skills.
* Support the development of project proposals and progress against agreed programme milestones and budget.
* A strong understanding of standards, legislation and regulations affecting buildings and lighting.

* We work on projects, in a variety of sectors such as Commercial, Retail, Landscape, Urban Realm, Lighting Master Planning, Transportation and Infrastructure, with both local governments and private clients.
* You will be working as part of the Lighting and Energy Solutions team and be a part of a global network of lighting specialists.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
* A proven track record of experience in lighting design from conception to completion.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to Architecture / Lighting Design / Interior Design / Product Design / Design / Engineering.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in lighting design consultancy and understanding various types of project delivery techniques.
* Shown ability to deliver projects in different sectors.
* Extensive knowledge of lighting products and luminaire manufacturers.
* Ability to create expressive lighting design solutions, influence wellbeing and inspire through light, and deliver conceptual narratives with storytelling.
* Substantial experience in guiding the professional development of less experienced lighting designers (and hence, the development of the team).
* Good understanding of lighting calculation software including DIALux Evo and Relux.
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office. An understanding of Sketch-up, Rhino, 3DS Max, V-Ray and MicroStation CAD, would be beneficial.
