Teaching Assistant
Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire
Line Manager: Head of Learning Support
Job Purpose: This Teaching Assistant role is to be allocated to work with pupils (in small groups, classes and individually) with SEND or possible SEND needs.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities – Core Purpose
* To support the teaching and learning and personal development of pupils or an individual pupil.
* To undertake a range of duties commensurate with the role, as directed by the Head of Learning Support;
* Working with teaching staff, help to plan, prepare and adapt programmes of work, activities, materials, equipment and resources for the pupil(s);
* To promote the mission and identity of the school positively and actively promote the development of the whole person;
* To support the pupil with examination access arrangements or reasonable adjustments as needed;
* To offer nurture and academic support to the pupil as part of a class, small group or on a
1-1 basis.
Requirements:
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant/HLTA desirable but not essential;
* GSCE (or equivalent) Maths and English A-C grade;
* Recent experience in a classroom environment;
* Understanding and awareness of SEND Code of Practice (2015)/JCQ Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments; Equality Act (2010);
* Willingness to work towards specific SEND specialist qualification as part of CPD process

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
